Harun Seyhan’s weekly roundup highlights a group of GitHub Copilot announcements from Universe: Fusion, projects, automations, security features and dreaming. They cover different parts of organising and carrying out software work.

From model choice to project work

In the 28 October announcement, GitHub describes Fusion as a system that selects and coordinates models. Projects bring work across repositories into parallel managed sessions. Automations can run in the cloud manually, on events or on a schedule.

Dreaming is an opt-in public preview that uses past work to improve context. Proposed changes to checked-in skills and instructions go through pull requests, while dream runs consume AI credits.

Terra joins the model options

The channel also notes GPT-6.1 Terra’s availability in Copilot, including Visual Studio Code, Xcode and Copilot CLI. GitHub’s 26 October release note describes a gradual rollout for eligible paid plans; organisation policies can control access. This model option is separate from Fusion’s automatic model coordination.
