The Yusuf İpek channel’s technology report covers display-crack reports following the iPhone Duo’s launch and iFixit’s teardown. The channel says some users reported cracks near the folding area together with a bright line of pixels.
Reports from early users
One example described in the video concerns a user who said the problem appeared after opening and closing the phone fewer than twenty times. The channel’s report also relays that Apple described the issue as affecting a small number of devices and directed users to AppleCare for replacements.

Examining the structure around the hinge
iFixit’s October 25 teardown pays particular attention to repairs involving the inner display and hinge. The area where the cable passage meets the display support is part of its examination of where damage could develop. iFixit is studying this structure to investigate possible causes of the reported cracks.
A provisional repairability score
iFixit gives the phone a provisional score of 5 out of 10, describing it as the highest score among the foldables it has assessed. Removal of the outer display, separation of the batteries and access to small components are positive points. Replacing the inner display and hinge remains difficult. The score is provisional because spare-parts availability is not yet complete.
