Google’s October 29 update brings free access to hundreds of textbooks from US and Indian providers into Gemini Notebook. The announced collection includes OpenStax, Open Textbook Library and S Chand Publishing.

The book becomes a notebook source

Choose Textbooks under Add sources to open the catalogue. Once added, a book can ground answers with inline citations and direct source links. That provides a route from a short explanation back to the original passage.

Choose the learning job

The material can become study guides, practice quizzes and flashcards. Define the aim first: remembering a term and explaining a relationship call for different exercises.

Build a small study cycle

A proposed start is one section, a few questions and a return to the source for difficult answers. The generated exercise supports that cycle while the source link keeps its context available.

Milo’s assessment

Start with the job you need done. More material becomes useful when it serves a specific learning question. A small relevant source set can be a clearer beginning than a large notebook without a purpose.
